I love this big roomy ware house type space. Super chill. Strange books in strange places. Cool graffiti art in the bathroom. They used to have a sofa but i guess too many people found it a bit too comfy? Good chai, good vibes. Close to Trax and downtown.
I love Salt Lake Coffee Break! It’s down to earth, amazing baristas that are so kind and real, delicious lentil soup and not to mention it is one of Utah’s original coffee shops. I have been coming here for more than 15 years! Also for all your STUDENTS — it’s the best place in town to study late. It stays open until 12 or 1.
This place was lowkey really cool. My friend and I were trying to find a place to just catchup and get some coffee to celebrate International Coffee Day, and this ended up being the place! Right when we went inside, you could just TELL it was a college student hub (so many caffeinated college students I swear, it was kind of crazy). The barista was so so sweet and was super patient with us (we felt so bad we were having a hard time deciding what to get, heheh). But we ended up getting a hot matcha and an iced chai latte - they were soooooo good, the matcha warmed my soul. Then we just went outside where there was a nice little area. Would recommend.
beautiful gorgeous delicious iced americano with oat milk. wonderful nice baristas, great patio. nice to look at at the empty starbucks across the street (as it should be)
Came in earlier today, and had a lovely experience. Ginger was my barista and she was fast, kind, and attentive, and made a Bomb Ass Cup of coffee, I don't know what they're paying her but it needs to be more. 10/10 would recommend, I will be coming again.
SLCB is a community staple. It's the only spot open late for extended cram sessions, and it definitely has a younger, more social vibe than other coffeeshops, so it's a fun place to talk to strangers or hang out with a group. There's plenty of seating; sadly, they got rid of their sofas. I love the patio, which is heated during the winter, and the interior is laidback and cozy. Their chai is tasty, plus they serve Turkish coffee. The baristas are lovely to chat with as well. There's a rack of books, magazines, games, and no shortage of interesting people-watching.
I’ve been a customer at coffee break for a few months now. Might I just say what a wonderful experience this fine establishment has given me. I’ve met so many cool people, and made lifelong friends. The coffee is delicious and very sweet, like the staff ;). Cool bathroom, good vibes, great patio seating. You’ll love it ! Also the hummus plate is delicious!!!
Stopped by late Friday night after enjoying Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 at the Utah Symphony, and I’m so glad this place is open until 1 AM! It’s a great spot to unwind in the area. The hot chocolate was delicious—especially with whipped cream. The staff was super friendly and nice to chat with, which made the experience even better. Definitely a cozy late-night gem!
